Serving the area since 1947
The Penn-Franklin News will consider printing photographs submitted with articles, or photographs with sufficient information for a detailed caption, from the local community. If you are unsure if your photo is appropriate for printing, please contact our office.
Photos can be black and white or color. Digital photos can also be submitted in jpg format on a disc or via email, they are not to be printed out as they do not scan well. Make sure the photo is in focus. The plainer the background and the sharper the contrast, the easier it will be to reproduce the picture in the newspaper. If submitting an article and a photograph together, please mark the article that a photo is included so that it will not be missed.
Photos that have been submitted to the paper can be picked up at the office after they have appeared in the paper, or you can provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope that the photo will be returned in after it has been used.
Community groups can request that photographs be taken of special activities or events. These requests will be honored if our photographer is available at the requested time.
To schedule a photographer, call the 724-244-4511.
To submit a photograph with or without an article you can mail it to:
4021 Old William Penn Highway
Murrysville, PA 15668
or you can drop the article off at our office: click here for directions. Even if the office is not open, a drop box is available beside the front door for submissions.
We do not accept photographs by fax.
Please note - to publish photos we need a high megapixel size. Do not downsize your photos to send them. Be aware that many online photo sharing services will automatically downsize your photos when you download them. These photos are not of high enough quality to be printed. It is best to send the original photo from your camera.
